What began at a BLM protest in downtown LA, soon blossomed into a movement to inspire change.

Stop The Music, Get Out The Vote 2020 was an action and awareness campaign across music industry leaders. The mission was to get all companies to pledge to close their offices on Election Day and encourage their employees to use that time to vote. 

​

The goal of this campaign was to build a community that sets an important example for the rest of the country to inspire other organizations to take the same action and create change. A get-out-the-vote organization lobbying the music industry to leverage its influence and set an example by giving all employees the day off to vote on Federal Election Days. More than 60,000 employees were given the entire day off to vote due to commitments by their employers to STMGOTV in 2020.

MISSION STATEMENT 
 

The opportunity to vote is a necessity. While there are many critically important voter registration drives and voter awareness programs throughout the music industry, there has been little done to specifically empower our employees to vote on Election Day. 
 

Music is the universal language, and we have an opportunity to use our platform to inspire comprehensive change across not only across our industry but across all industries in the United States. 

We can help make sound-waves of change by committing to supporting the right to vote.
